About this game

DiceBaby is what happens when Yahtzee grows up, moves to the countryside, and adopts a nursery of baby animals. You roll five dice. You hold the ones you like, reroll the rest, and score the combo on a Yahtzee-style scorecard. The twist: every points-combo feeds, plays with, or teaches one of the baby animals in your nursery — and as your score grows, new animals arrive.

Start with a baby panda. Score a pair and feed them bamboo. Score three-of-a-kind and unlock a baby red fox who lives in the winter paddock. Score a full house and earn a nap time for the whole nursery — every animal gets tucked into a hand-drawn little bed while lo-fi music plays. Score a Yahtzee and a new species joins the nursery. There are 20+ baby animals to unlock: panda, red fox, raccoon, owl, bunny, piglet, duckling, kitten, puppy, hedgehog, otter, deer, seal, koala, penguin, and several seasonal rares.

There is no energy system. There is no stamina bar. There is no timer pushing you to spend. You can play one round a week and the game will be exactly where you left it. You can play twenty rounds in an evening and the game will gently suggest a nap. The only progression is your nursery, which is entirely yours and entirely permanent.

Seasonal events bring themed dice (pumpkin dice in October, snowflake dice in December, sakura dice in April) and time-limited baby animals that join your nursery permanently if you unlock them during the event. Multiplayer is local pass-and-play — two to four people, one phone, taking turns like a board game.

DiceBaby is free to download. Optional in-app purchases unlock cosmetic dice designs, accelerate nursery progression, and remove the occasional interstitial ad. None of them affect gameplay. The cozy experience is intact regardless of whether you ever pay a krone.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will DiceBaby launch?

We're targeting fall 2026 for the iOS and Android release. Email us to be notified when it drops.

Is DiceBaby free?

Yes. DiceBaby is free to download with optional in-app purchases for cosmetic dice skins, progression accelerators, and ad removal. Nothing you buy affects core gameplay.

How many baby animals can I unlock?

Twenty-plus at launch, with more added through seasonal events. Each animal is unlocked through specific dice combos — the panda is the starter, and progressively harder scoring combos unlock rarer species.

Is DiceBaby like Yahtzee?

Yes — scoring is Yahtzee-style (pairs, three-of-a-kind, full house, etc.), played on a similar scorecard. The cozy nursery progression layered on top is what makes DiceBaby different.

Why is DiceBaby rated 12+ if it's a cozy game?

The 12+ rating is driven by the presence of in-app purchases and advertising SDKs, not by content. The gameplay itself is appropriate for all ages; we recommend parental guidance for purchases on younger players' devices.

Does DiceBaby have multiplayer?

Local pass-and-play for 2–4 players on a single device at launch. Online multiplayer is on the roadmap but not promised for v1.
