Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

This page explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on driftmothgames.com. The short version: we don’t set any cookies of our own, and that is why you do not see a cookie consent banner on this site.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser. They are commonly used to remember logins, save preferences, or track users across sites for advertising. A website only needs your consent for cookies that are not strictly necessary for the service you asked for.

2. Cookies we set

None. This site does not set any first-party cookies. We have no account system, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking.

3. Strictly necessary cookies from Cloudflare

This site is delivered through Cloudflare, our CDN and hosting provider. Cloudflare may occasionally set a strictly necessary cookie called __cf_bm (Cloudflare Bot Management) to distinguish humans from bots and protect the site from abuse. This cookie:

  • Is strictly necessary for secure delivery of the site;
  • Does not track you across other websites;
  • Typically expires after 30 minutes;
  • Is exempt from the consent requirement under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive because it is strictly necessary for the service you requested.

4. localStorage (not a cookie)

Some of the HTML5 games use your browser’s localStorage to save high scores, best streaks, or simple preferences. localStorage is not a cookie: the data is stored entirely on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party. You can clear it at any time from your browser’s settings.

5. Third-party cookies

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and does not store identifiers that can be linked to you.

6. Why there is no cookie banner

Under EU/EEA law, a consent banner is required only for cookies or similar technologies that are not strictly necessary. Since we do not set any such cookies and our analytics provider is cookieless, there is nothing for you to consent to — and asking for consent we do not need would itself be a poor privacy practice.

7. How to control cookies in your browser

You can block, delete, or limit cookies in your browser’s settings at any time. Most browsers also let you clear all site data, including localStorage, for a given site. Instructions for the major browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge
