This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit driftmothgames.com (the “site”) and play the free HTML5 games hosted here. We have designed this site to collect as little data about you as reasonably possible.

For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Michael Ricer is the data controller for any personal data processed through this site.

2. What data we collect

Cloudflare Web Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — for example, how many people visited a page. This service is cookieless, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not store IP addresses or any identifiers linked to you. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as a processor under their Data Processing Addendum.

Browser localStorage

Some of the HTML5 games save high scores, best streaks, or simple preferences in your browser’s localStorage. This information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. You can clear it at any time through your browser’s settings.

Server and security logs

The site is delivered through Cloudflare’s content-delivery network. Cloudflare may temporarily process connection metadata — such as IP addresses and timestamps — to protect the site against abuse, filter malicious traffic, and serve content efficiently. We do not receive or have access to individual IP addresses from these logs.

Email correspondence

If you email us directly, we will process the content of your message and your email address to answer your inquiry. We do not use this address for marketing.

What we do not collect

• No user accounts, logins, or registrations.
• No tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
• No third-party analytics beyond Cloudflare Web Analytics.
• No advertising networks, in-app purchases, or monetisation trackers.
• No profiling or automated decision-making.

3. Legal basis for processing

We rely on legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for:

• Operating the site and delivering its content (technical necessity).
• Aggregate, cookieless analytics to understand usage at a population level.
• Security, abuse prevention, and CDN functionality.

If you contact us by email, we rely on Article 6(1)(b) (steps taken at your request) or Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).

We have assessed that our legitimate interests in operating and improving this website do not override your rights and freedoms, given the minimal, aggregated, and pseudonymous nature of the data we process.

4. Third-party processors

The following service providers may process technical data on our behalf:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — CDN, hosting, and web analytics. Transfers outside the EU/EEA take place under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

As of April 22, 2026 we self-host all fonts and assets used on the site. No font, stylesheet, or script is fetched from a third-party domain while you browse driftmothgames.com.

5. Cookies

We do not set any first-party cookies. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary technical cookie called __cf_bm for bot management and abuse protection. This cookie is exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR because it is strictly necessary to deliver the service securely. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Your rights under GDPR

If we process personal data about you, you have the following rights:

7. Data retention

Cloudflare analytics data is aggregated and cannot be linked back to any individual. Connection metadata (IP addresses, timestamps) processed by Cloudflare as part of the CDN and bot-management service is retained per Cloudflare’s own data-retention policies — typically 7 to 14 days depending on log type. See Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum for details.

Email correspondence you send us is retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, and then deleted unless a longer retention period is required by law.

8. Children’s privacy

Our games are aimed at a general audience and are not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Cloudflare is headquartered in the United States. Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, it is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and, where applicable, supplementary measures. As of April 22, 2026 Cloudflare is the only processor on which this site relies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or applicable law. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
