Browser Games FAQ
Questions specific to our free HTML5 browser games at driftmothgames.com — how they work, what browsers are supported, whether they run offline, and what (very little) data we collect. For studio-level questions, see the Studio FAQ. For our mobile apps on iOS and Android, see the Mobile Games FAQ.
What are HTML5 browser games?
HTML5 browser games are games that run directly in your web browser using modern web technologies. You don't need to download or install anything — just open the page and start playing. They work on any device with a modern browser, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Do I need to download anything?
No. All games at driftmothgames.com run directly in your browser. There is nothing to download, install, or update. Just open a game page and press Play.
Are the browser games safe?
Yes. Our browser games contain no ads, no trackers, and no malware. We do not collect personal data on the website. Some games save your high score locally in your browser's localStorage, but this information stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party.
What browsers are supported?
Our games work on all modern browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge, on desktop and mobile. We recommend keeping your browser updated for the best experience.
Do you collect my data on the website?
On driftmothgames.com we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views in aggregate without cookies and without identifying individual users. We don't collect, store, or sell personal data on the website. Some games save high scores in your browser's localStorage — that data never leaves your device.
Can I play the browser games offline?
Browser games at driftmothgames.com need an internet connection to load the game file, though most then run fine if your connection drops. For fully offline play, see our mobile apps, which are designed with proper offline support.
Which browser games work on mobile?
Most of our browser games support touch controls and work on phones and tablets — 2048, BLOKFALL, Echo — 4 Pads, Echo — 8 Pads, GNOM!, Neon Serpent, Pixel Assault, Rocket Defense, and Void Raiders all play well on mobile. GRIDLOCK — Neon Trails requires a keyboard and shows a notice on mobile suggesting you switch to desktop.
